The first edition took place in 2004.〔 All the digital models presented were female. The awards were given during a gala ceremony in Turin, Italy in December 2004. The winning author was given a gold bar worth $5000 and a plaque recording the victory. The 2004 contest was won by a Chilean designer Flavio Parra. The 2006 winner was "Dark Eve", created by Mario Calamita, an Italian designer.〔 In 2007 Franz Cerami created The Miss Digital World Calendar, named Some Like Her Digital.
